K9 TailSaver® Set

I just adopted a pit butt from one of our local shelters, and she had happy tail syndrome--she had literally beat the tip of her tail to a pulp against the metal of her kennel. She tolerated bandaging really well, but at some point, it would pop off because the tape doesn't hold for that long. If I caught it quickly enough, I could get it re-wrapped, but if not, one good whack undid all our progress. Her tail is a lethal weapon, and she is one of the happiest dogs I've ever met so it's going all the time. Then her tail became infected, and we really wanted to get air to it, but she needed protection. The TailSaver has helped us turn the corner. She had zero issues with it, and I didn't have any trouble fitting her after watching the video a couple of times. She's had it on for just over 24 hours, and the tail has already scabbed over nicely and the sewlling has gone down. (She's also on a high dose antibiotic, silver sulfa creme, and some pain killers. Without the added protection of the TailSaver, though, I don't think those would be as effective. It's absolutely part of the cure.) I highly recommend these and am very happy I bought it. The shelter had one of the cheap versions on when I picked her up, and it had already chafed the insides of her back legs badly. I had an appointment with my vet immediately after bailing her out, and we took it off and left it off. My only regret is that I did not buy this immediately--she was so good about the bandages that I thought she would heal without it. Wrong. Once we get through this, I'll wash it and tuck it away, just in case. Thank you for providing such a fantastic product.

This tail saver has saved me and my dog both, my dog from a major tail injury and myself from a major headache of a 1,000 dollar vet bill! I am glad to have tools available to care and tend for my dog without the worry or fret of having to put up with overpriced solutions. This product worked great, and Julie, the wonderful lady that I spoke with, was extremely helpful! I hope that this review makes it to someone who needs to read it!

We would completely stand by and recommend this product to anyone whose vet has told them that they need to amputate their dog’s tail. It may not be necessary!! This product saved Murphy’s tail, is thousands of dollars worth of surgery, and most importantly, the trauma that would have been experienced by both Murphy and our family. Murphy got, what the vet described as a fairly superficial wound, on the end of his tail (Murphy is an 85lb yellow lab) when it accidentally got caught in a closing patio door. They bandaged him up and sent him home. About a week and a half later they removed the bandage to see that the wound was scabbing nicely, left his bandages off and sent him home. We weren’t home more than 5 minutes and he had hit his tail against the cabinets and furniture (a “happy” hit) and reopened the wound. We went right back to the vet and bandaged him back up again and made a consult appointment to have his tail amputated! I couldn’t believe it. For a superficial wound this was all they could do?! We ordered the Hapoy Tail Saver that night and never looked back. Murphy wore that for a few weeks letting the wound breathe and heal within the sleeve and not getting blood anywhere else. Murphy wasn’t a huge fan, but he didn’t really bother with it. Within a month the wound was completely healed and he was growing his hair back. Despite the eye rolls I got from the vet when we took him back in for a recheck, this really works and I am happy to write this review for anyone who is skeptical. It’s worth a try. My large and very tall 70lb Golden Doodle had an infection her tail and we were at our wits end trying to get it to heal. I contacted K9 TailSaver over Thanksgiving weekend and they responded over the weekend and sent it NextDay Mail the following day! I wasn't sure what size would be right, but Julie assured me that she checks every order to make sure the fit will be right after you submit measurements. My dog wore it for two weeks straight very happily and never seemed uncomfortable in it. They provide great videos and written directions to make sure you put in on your dog correctly. Great device and company! Don't worry about the cost--just BUY it and you'll never regret it!

This is the best product I've bought. My 7 year old pup has been biting his tail since he got bit by an Ant in August and was at the point it would need to be amputated because we got it fully healed and he wouldn't leave it alone. The anxiety it has caused my poor pup is awful until this wonderful piece of kit arrived. The customer service is second to none.

Our happy tail giant breed dog broke her tail. TailSaver as more expensive than some other low cost units, with more straps but does the job better. Watching the video is important how to mount the unit on the dog as it can be somewhat challenging for some. Our dog doesn't care if she is wearing it at all from what we can see. Had a side strap that was too short and was shipped another tail unit express - excellent customer service. Our vet says it is the best anti-waggle harness she has seen. I would suggest an option for a waterproof sleeve to over the breathable tail sleeve as our girl rubs up against greenery. We made a sleeve out of plastic garbage bag when she goes outside.
